After Britney Spears spent the past several months on social media saying that she had voluntarily checked herself into a mental health facility, she has now told a judge that her father committed her and forced her to take medication against her will.

Britney Seeks to Adjust or End Her Father’s Conservatorship

Britney Spears is trying to end the 11-year conservatorship that has given her father, Jamie Spears, control over her medical, financial, and career affairs. She is asking the judge to adjust the conservatorship so that she will have more freedom.

Jamie Spears has had held this conservatorship since 2008, when Britney was hospitalized in 2008 and deemed legally incapable of taking care of herself.

The conservatorship does not grant Jamie Spears the power to put his daughter in rehab against her will, according to the terms. Any facility that did so would be breaking the law.

No Ruling on the Conservatorship Has Been Made

The judge has declined to make any ruling on the conservatorship but has ordered an expert evaluation of the singer’s situation, according to TMZ. The hearing ended in a bizarre fashion, with Britney walking out of the courthouse barefoot.

Her condition remains unstable, reportedly. Fans were outside the courthouse chanting and holding up signs that said “Free Britney.”

Lynne Spears is Getting Involved

Britney’s mother, Lynne, is apparently echoing some of Britney’s concerns about the conservatorship and her treatment. Lynne and Britney have been estranged for nearly 15 years, but Lynne is apparently trying to reestablish a relationship with her daughter and has been staying at her home.

Lynne attended the hearing after filing legal documents trying to gain access to Britney’s medical information from Jamie. Britney was seen holding hands with her mother on their way into the courthouse.

Lynne reportedly does not want to become her daughter’s co-conservator, but Britney is hoping that her mother will “ease the restrictions.”

How the Public Battle Began

This very public battle over Britney’s physical and mental health began after she suddenly took a break from her Vegas show, and then checked herself into a mental health facility in April.

It was supposedly to deal with stress over her father’s health. Jamie underwent two emergency surgeries for a ruptured colon. According to some reports, though, Britney’s stay in the facility was really because the cocktail of medications that she has been taking had become ineffective and left her unstable.

Police have arrested a Missouri man who kept using Craigslist to get free cats, only to bring them home to dismember, mutilate and kill them.

Kaine Louzader, 20, was charged on Friday with felony, first-degree animal abuse, and prosecutors say more charges are expected. He is being held on the $50,000 bond.

Man Spotted Dumping Dead Cats

Since January, dead cats kept turning up on the same street or near where Louzader lives outside of St. Peters, Missouri.

However, on May 6, someone then spotted Louzader dumping a dead cat near his home and contacted police.

During a police interview, they noticed cuts and scratches on Louzader. A search turned up three mutilated kittens and a dead cat. Police say that he has admitted to dismembering the animals.

Louzader would meet people on Craigslist who were selling or giving away kittens or an adult cat, prosecutors allege, and then he would take them to his home and mutilate them.

When it Becomes a Felony

“It becomes a felony if the animal was mutilated prior to death, so that is something we’re going to have to look at and make sure that in fact we can prove the animals were mutilated before they died,” St. Charles Prosecuting Attorney Tim Lohmar said

“We’ve had several incidents over the years people involved in violent crimes, lo and behold in their background some animal mutilation,” Lohmar said. “So it’s a scary situation.”

Lohmar added that if someone is capable of torching and mutilating animals, he believes that person could be capable of a whole lot worse.

Even though he’s long since retired from soccer, David Beckham received a proverbial red card on Thursday.

Becks pleaded guilty to using his phone while driving at a court in Bromley, England. In addition to about $1200 worth of fines, the 44-year old received six points on his license, banning him from the road for six months.

The former England national team captain was photographed on November 21st looking down at his phone while driving in slow traffic. According to his lawyer, he has no recollection of this particular day.

Not His First Foul

Beckham already had six points on his license due to previous speeding offenses. In September, he was clocked doing 59MPH in a 40MPH zone but dodged yet another speeding charge on a technicality.

In the UK, holding a phone while driving is a punishable offense, even in slow traffic. The typical punishment is six points on your license and a fine of around $260, though these can increase for more serious offenses.

If you’ll recall, in Infinity War, Loki died being strangled by Thanos; and in Endgame, Thanos did say there’d be no resurrections this time.

But wait…

In Endgame, we were brought back to the very first Avengers film during one of the time heist scenes. There, when things didn’t go exactly according to plan, Loki managed to disappear with the Tesseract.

So, what does that mean for the fate of the Asgardian prince?

Alive in the Multiverse

The Times asked the Russo brothers if Captain America returning the stones would technically undo that scene or not.

“Loki could absolutely still be alive in an alternate timeline,” responded Anthony Russo.

This may mean we haven’t seen the last of the God of Mischief, especially considering what’s been recently been revealed.

In the new Spider-Man: Far Away From Home trailer, there is certainly mention of such alternate worlds. When Thanos snapped his finger, it seems a multiverse was created – and perhaps Loki is alive in one of the alternate universes.

“Loki, when he teleports away with the Time Stone, would create his own timeline,” Joe Russo told Business Insider. “It gets very complicated, but it would be impossible for [Cap] to rectify the timeline unless he found Loki. The minute that Loki does something as dramatic as take the Space Stone, he creates a branched reality.”

Upcoming Spinoff

We also know that there’s about to be a streaming series starring Tom Hiddleston on Disney+, too. And according to The Hollywood Reporter, “sources say the show will follow Loki as the trickster and shape-shifter pops up throughout human history as an unlikely influencer on historical events.”

The show, helmed by Rick & Morty‘s Michael Waldron, we suspect will certainly shed some light on what’s happened.

In the meantime, it definitely seems as if Loki is alive and well in some universe.
