You may have heard about the Spice Girl’s reunion tour, which was slated to have gigs in Australia, the Far East, America, and the UK before ending on June 15. You may have also heard the recent rumors circulating that the tour is now being scrapped altogether thanks to revelations of a past relationship between Geri Horner and Mel B.
We’ve got the details.
Spice Girl’s Issues with Tour After Secret Relationship Revealed
The news of the secret relationship between Geri Horner and Mel B immediately started escalating after an interview between Mel B and Piers Morgan. She alleged that she and Geri had sex during the ’90s, and that it “just happened and we just giggled at it and that was it.”
Horner didn’t seem to agree with that sentiment since she released a statement through a rep where she denied that anything like that had ever happened.
“It has been very disappointing to read about all these rumours again. She would like her fans to know that what has been reported recently is simply not true and has been very hurtful to her family.”
Mel then clarified things a bit further, saying, “It wasn’t, like, a big deal. We’ve known each other for 20-plus years. It was just one of those things that happened one night.” She continued, “I just admitted we had a little bit of a thing back in the day at one time. And that’s it.”
Plug Pulled on World Tour International Concerts
The famous girl group has been thrown into turmoil after this revelation, and some outlets have purported that the tour has been entirely canceled. This is only half true, as the Spice Girls still plan to honor the British gigs on their tour list.
A representative for the group had this to say, “It has been a highly dramatic week. At one point last Sunday, the tour wasn’t happening. They agreed that they had to do the British dates because they are under contract and they don’t want to let their fans down, but there won’t be any more.”
“There had been plans to keep it going, but no more.”
A source has also stated that Geri currently doesn’t even want to be in the same room as Mel B.
