So how will life on Earth end? There are two perspectives: On one side, we have the scientists who have studied scientific facts as indicators. On the opposite side, we have those who are basing their predictions on knowledge from supernatural sources. Which perspective is more valid?
Either way, the predictions from both sides aren’t all that warm and fuzzy. Let’s see what other sources have to say about Earth and mankind’s future…
An object from space collides into Earth
There’s a 1 in 1.6 million chance that an asteroid, meteorite or comet may cause YOUR death, but what are the chances that an object from space could wipe out mankind in general?
There are a few places in our cosmic neighborhood were killer asteroids or comets could live, but the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter is home to most of the meteorites that have hit us before. Luckily, as time passes, so does the threat (because the asteroids are not replenishing).
The truth is that our solar system, the galaxy, and the universe at large are incredibly complex. Scientists can’t nail down an exact risk, but they think it probably won’t happen for another 1.35 million years.
Jean Dixon: Armageddon between 2020 and 2037
Jean Dixon is one of the best-known American psychics and astrologers of the 20th century. She famously predicted the assassination of John F. Kennedy, when in the May 13, 1956, issue of Parade Magazine she wrote that the 1960 presidential election would be “dominated by labor and won by a Democrat” who would then go on to”be assassinated or die in office though not necessarily in his first term.” Dixon gave astrological advice to both former President Richard Nixon and former First Lady Nancy Reagan.
Dixon claimed that Armageddon would take place in 2020, and Jesus will return to defeat the unholy trinity of the Antichrist, Satan, and the False prophet between 2020 and 2037.
Scientists predict Earth-splitting earthquake & tsunami in Oregon: 2015-2065
Since 2010, scientists have believed that an inevitable earthquake and tsunami will strike off the coast of Oregon within the next 50 years due to a crack in the Earth’s crust approximately 97 kilometers (60 miles) offshore from Oregon.
This zone is believed to be hiding one of the biggest seismic events of the century. They believe it could possibly even split apart portions of the West Coast itself.
“Time traveler” predicts Los Angeles will be underwater in the year 5000
In February 2018, a man, known only as Edward, who claims to be a time traveler, says he was part of a top-secret experiment at a Los Angeles laboratory in 2004 which allowed him to time travel.
Edward says he went to the future and spoke with people who said that the ice caps melting had lead to Los Angeles and other cities being submerged.
He claims that the photo was taken 3,000 years in the future.
Scientists say Mount Fuji to erupt between 2015-2053
Scientists believe that Mount Fuji in Japan can erupt any day. In 2011, the 9.0-9.1 Tohoku earthquake literally shifted the landmass of Japan, and as a result, 20 of the 110 active volcanoes in Japan showed increased seismic activity. The volcano is one of 47 active Japanese volcanoes.
Experts agree that if Mount Fuji erupts, 750,000 people would need to be evacuated from Tokyo and the city would likely be covered in ash.
Nostradamus predictions for 2018?
Many people have claimed that the cryptic predictions of Nostradamus predicted the end of the world, even though the psychic has never given a specific date to these events. Many followers believe some of the famous soothsayers predictions will come to pass in the year 2018, pointing to these statements:
“The trembling so hard in the month of May, Saturn, Capricorn, Jupiter, Mercury and Taurus: Venus also, Cancer, Mars, in Virgo, Hail will fall larger than an egg.”
Scientists predict major solar storm: 2015-2025
Scientists believe there is a 12 percent chance of the major solar storm hitting Earth in the next 10 years, as the sun has an activity cycle which is expected to ramp up within the next decade. Electronic grids and satellite communications across the world could be affected causing major worldwide blackouts.
Crucial electronic components of satellites could be destroyed. The last event in July 2012 was considered a “lucky miss” and scientists don’t believe we will be so fortunate the next time.
Scientists say the long-predicted “big one” will hit California: 2015-2045
It’s something California residents have heard their entire life: “The big one is coming.” People have gone so far as to say that the big one will sink portions (or the entirety) of the state into the ocean. The US geological survey predicts a strong probability of a magnitude 8.0 or larger earthquake hitting California within the next few decades.
One of the biggest fears with California earthquakes, especially in Southern California, is the wildfires that are likely to be sparked in the aftermath which could turn much of the state into a raging inferno.
