While snorkeling in the Colorado River, a man from Cienega Springs, Arizona, was shocked to find two skeletons under the water seated in lawn chairs.
Needless to say, he immediately reported the find to the authorities. Investigators were promptly sent out.
Law enforcement quickly determined that the skeletons were fake.
Oddly, the skeletons had been placed to appear that they were having an underwater tea party.
The skeletons were wearing sunglasses and one appears to have a sign that reads: "Bernie."
The "Bernie" sign appears be a reference to the 1989 film, "Weekend at Bernie's."
The film is about two insurance workers who find their boss Bernie dead and pretend that he is still alive.
The police aren't trying to figure out who put the fake skeletons in the river...
Instead, they're displaying them outside their own department as a joke.
